It is Acorn Time!
What? Yes, Acorn Time and I can tell you, 2019 is a wonderful year. Not only the jays, woodpeckers, mice and squirrels are happy with the wonderful harvest but I am too.
A couple of years ago I did a Thai massage workshop and learned how to give acupressure massage. As you might know, the human body is covered with a network of energy lines or so called meridians. By pressing certain points along these lines, blockages are cleared and the energy can flow again throughout the body. Stress melts away and you feel wonderful, relaxed and energetic again.
DIY acupressure
Part of the Thai massage workout are the feet. A therapeutic massage to particular areas of the sole of the feet to stimulate the reflex or acupressure points that correspond to other points of the body, the organs, the glands and the senses.
ASMR acorn sound
One day I was walking my dog. It was autumn, leafs were falling and so were the acorns. By accident I must have stepped on one of them. Because I was wearing shoes with leather soles I heard a fresh crack and felt the pressure under my foot. It felt like a Thai foot massage combined with Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR). Wonderful!
From that moment on autumn means more to me than wind and rain and falling leafs. Continuously my eyes scan the sidewalk and I treat myself to a wonderful acupressure massage. All areas in the forefoot are fine but there is one special point that is the best. The solar plexus point, right under the center of the ball of the foot. Take a deep breath, crack the acorn with your solar plexus foot point and release slowly. Walk on to the next acorn and repeat. It is a new way of walking, of being outdoors, treating yourself with what is already there. The power of nature.
So just find yourself a pair of leathers sole shoes and go look for the acorns. They are still there. Enjoy!
