As I said, I love being on the road. Exploring the world. Going to places I have not been before, sometimes just close to my home and other times I need to travel for days to reach the city, town or area where I want to walk around for a while. Different landscapes, cityscapes, birds, animals, smells, temperatures and cultures is what I am interested in.
My camera is my loyal companion, we always travel together. I carry him around in my backpack and thanks to that fact, I have developed pretty strong back muscles. In nature or in cities, with sun or rain, it’s always hanging on my back. I go nowhere without this extra pair of eyes.
Travelling with my camera has learned me to look around. To observe what is there, to see the overall picture together with all its details. I look for the interactions in the scene, the light, the dancing shadows, the colors, the mood. Once back home again, working on the photo files, the intensity of having been on a special location, can result in a second journey from behind my desk. Travelling with my camera means always travelling twice.
